How good is an egg for our daily consumption?

Each egg has nearly 80 calories. It is a good source of protein (6 grams), various vitamins, and other nutrients. Among vitamins, it has Vitamin D, good for bone health and immune system support.
Eggs also contain nutrients such as Choline, which helps in metabolism and healthy liver function. Secondly, it is a good source for fetal brain development.
Choline, found in many foods, even this includes eggs. It is the need of the brain and nervous system for coordinated and smooth functions. It regulates memory, muscle control, mood, and other body function; a small amount of daily require Choline, which is produced naturally by the liver. Most of the daily requirements do come from the food we eat.

The yolk of an egg is good for the eyes: they are a substantial source of lutein and zeaxanthin, which is good for the eyes’ health and maintains the moistures level of the eyes. It also reduces the risk of cataracts and macular degeneration. Dry macular degeneration is likely to be observed among people who are above the age of 50 years.

Eggs are also known as a rich source of cholesterol. Consuming a large egg contains nearly cholesterol 185 -200 mg, which is half of our daily need as recommended by the experts.
In their research paper Harvard School of Public Health states that one large egg yolk has 200 mg of cholesterol. Refers to 60% of requirements is met by consuming a single egg per day.

Besides it, hen eggs also contain additional nutrients that may help lower the risk for cardiovascular disease. Refer to the above para for detail.

An article appeared in the Heart journal in May 2018. The research team found that consuming one egg per day may keep the doctor away. Same we have been listening for ages which states “an Apple a day keeps the doctor away.” It also means to remain healthy, consume one egg and an apple per day.
The research on this subject is ongoing within China. The study went on & operated for nine years while engaging the half-million adult population. They found that an egg per day will lower the risk of cardiovascular disease and stroke.
