“Wearing mask is necessity & must to beat COVID-19”.
Whereas wearing face mask to cover self and to protect yourself and others. It is observe mostly male resist to wear properly, reason they state it effects their masculinity.
Women and girls are more conscious in terms of wearing face mask to protect themselves, their love ones and other person.
It is observe that majority of men in the region are found to be noncompliant in terms of wearing face mask, this wearing is as precautionary steps against COVID-19,
Since beginning of this calendar year COVID-19 pandemic start appearing in family and society. From this time till to date and later period in the year 2020 and 2021.
Wearing face mask has been a mandatory for either sex.
It is observed wearing a face mask among the male is mostly obstacle and noncompliant.
The pandemic start appearing for COVID-19 in the beginning of the year. There was big confusion in initial phase regarding wearing face masks. The learning curve start evolving how to manage and restrict COVID-19. The World Health Organization commonly refer and known as WHO in the beginning of year 2020 they suggested quite confusing advisory. They stated wearing face mask is not effective. In the later stage when the concern virus appear to be air-borne, they withdrew and said for each individual it is mandatory to follow their issued guide line and protocol such as:
- Wear face mask.
- Hand hygiene washing hand with soap for 20 second or use hand sanitizer.
- Maintain social distancing minimum of 6 feet.
- While going out wear hand gloves to protect yourself and others.
WHO guideline was mostly followed by female (girl and women) where as in male the Face mask slip more commonly from their face especially the nose and mouth part are expose. This means male are exposing them selves
This can be observe in our MENA region, especially within shopping malls and in public places. Mainly men are offender and wrongdoer. They are violating this safety guide lines.
Secondly they may wear it wrongly such as below the nose and only cover their mouth.
UAE government states, men are the main violator and few are among the female population. Despite heavy penalty / fine of Dh 3,000 for not wearing the mask as per guideline. Fail to understand why male disobey and defy of wearing face mask and properly.
WHO further issued the guideline on Pandemic COVID-19 dated 17th July, 2020.
In the health emergencies such as recently we are facing is, Pandemic COVID-19. Overall the world and individual countries are trying their best to cope up with it and as per guideline issued by WHO from time to time. The WHO important job and their role is to gather data from all countries around the world. They evaluate and publish the data. Also provide advice on how to manage it. .
Research and studies are going on worldwide for corona and its management. Leading from front countries are United Sates and United Kingdom. In their studies they highlighted most of the men wearing mask, feel they are weaken and are restricted themselves. Further they observe it is not cool and nothing serious is going to happen to them if they don’t wear face mask. These are also the reasons, why male are more victim worldwide and have the high death rate due to the suffering from Corona virus i.e. COVID-19.
Wearing mask is essential to beat COVID-19. No excuse is acceptable in this regard
After lock down, the movement and exposure were restricted during the March to August, 2020 among most of the countries worldwide. Now in the month of September the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and other countries of MENA, movement restriction were relaxed and even public places, offices were open.
It is observed the most of the male have shown meager or limited disregard to wear face mask.
The efficacy of wearing face mask help in parking and abolishing Corona virus has been established .It does not allow the corona to spread from effected person to other person. This has been proofed and well documented. As good citizen we take care of our self as well as health and wellbeing of others.
